Percy A.
Private tutor in Richmond Heights, MO
Education
Graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) on June, 2012 with a dual degree in Applied Mathematics and Studio Art. I graduated with an advanced GPA of 3.3.
Experience
I worked as a tutor during my last two years at UCSD. I was self-employed. I tutored a total of three students in different subjects. Some of these subjects included Algebra, Calculus and Pre-Calculus; all College level. I also have experience working with Elementary School students. For example, I tutored a student in 3rd Grade Mathematics during the Summer of 2012. The student's mother wanted to prepare her son for the coming 3rd Grade year. Being a tutor is something I am very passionate about. The reason for this being that I believe in helping out students who need help in their studies. I have seen first-hand how some schools forget about a student in need. Most teachers just hope that the student will get better on their own eventually. I believe that a tutor isn't just someone who helps out with school work and exams, but also someone who can set a good example, someone that can act as a mentor to the student. After all, people learn best by example.
